Each of us Getting by Doing what we can Why have we been raised to aspire? We're all looking for an ocean Yet we can't even find a river The ground on which we walk is wearing thin Watch your step now my dear The dust inside my lungs leaves me gasping for air I've had enough I can't take this anymore You told me to make a tree from this root Instead I've found this gun that I'm willing to shoot I've torn down every city and I'd do it all again Let's move on to the villages and burn it all, Amen God, oh god am I doing this right? You know what? I don't care I've got my rights Revelate, tell me if I've gone too far Hesitate, you'd best keep running away Idolize, keep your heads up in the stars Trumped I tell you, fly away

Throughout all the years I've felt the shivering snow Melt on my back like the wind That once blew through the air Of the glacial nights of insanity And eight months of winter is long enough And I'm tired of waiting And I've had it with you And the things that you do The highest moon is brightening our way through the shadows Follow its path, it leads straight through the gallows We will be wasting our moments away With hopes that these memories never fade I know that I haven't seen you for a long time But I know that you'll wait for me And if one day you manage to understand Can we move somewhere close to the sea?

Old friend, come have a drink with me All those years ago, why'd you leave so suddenly? It's been so long, I hardly recognized you Where have you been, what are you up to? I've been traveling the world, you know I just had to leave Seen some crazy things, that you would not believe Looking out my window Just waiting for the clouds to pass Just want the good times to last Every summer passes like a dream With every moment it seems To move further away Trying to piece it all back together Truth is, nothing's going to last forever

Horizons 03:36
Three silver chains Tied to a wall Projected shadows From spring to fall Three broken men Know only this Look at the shapes Some kind of bliss Can you see the light? Feel that sun on your face? Can you tell wrong from right? Disappear without a trace? One of the three Escapes the shade Out in the sun He is afraid Above the surface He starts to cry His entire life Was but a lie
7.
The day lies down and the sun dies A violin plays through silent cries I know I've had this dream before You ran past me, through the door Now it's getting closer And all I see are textures I can't help myself I'm in need of this carnage and though I'm in good health I won't push the carriage Cause I know I've seen textures in the sky They'll surround you and you won't say goodbye Your screams will become your own hymnal And the trees will become my own shackles Shimmers of light peak through the trees Nothing but the faintest breeze As we're getting closer The forest grew thicker I got a good look, that's all that it took And I can't seem to remember A face so familiar Hiding at my door I think it's peculiar A truth I can't ignore
8.
Getting Late 03:50
I might have forgotten That the sun slowly dies And if my mind is rotten I'll go rest in the skies Because I've seen the way That the stars shine And I've noticed the way that They all align with themselves Slowly moving away from consciousness It's getting late in the hour So I'll go visit my friends But they're fading as well I can't comprehend What they're trying to tell The barn was raised up last night Don't let it burn to the ground
9.
Shoreline 04:12
He found her washed up on the sand Abandoned by a man's command The waves kept on getting closer As the daylight fell, the tide got higher On the shoreline He took her to his cabin by the water Dragged by her corroded anchor Torn sails that he had resewn He worked on her and sailed that night alone Shoreline He chose a name for her: Serenity A ship reborn and put out to sea He hoisted her sails as a pioneer They say most problems disappear Past the shoreline Alone for so long You forget where your home is Just follow the horizon Follow the horizon I've been at sea for a year I don't know where my home is Just follow the horizon Follow the horizon

Rise Above 02:07

Don't you know? It's over before you know it Taking it slow Trying to embrace the moment We've got all the time in the world So just enjoy it But you know that These years feel like they're always getting shorter There's not much that can be done No, not much that can be changed The earth keeps on turning every day If it wasn't for these years that we spent together It would seem so useless in the end Going through life without your friends It's going to get better It has to get better Don't you know? It's over before you know it Taking it slow Trying to embrace the moment We've got all the time in the world So just enjoy it It doesn't really matter now It gets better in the end

Aurora 04:22
Hello, it's me Close the door behind you Finding the right words to say What good is it going to do? It was all going so well All least it was, in my mind I guess I just missed the cues I find them hard to find Why'd you have to quit? Why'd you have to stop? Why'd it have to end? I guess I just forgot.

about

Madison Classic is a jazz-rock trio from Niagara Falls, Ontario. Behind the music is the work of two cousins: Nicholas Carrière on guitar and vocals, Michael Carrière on keyboards; and Liam Haynes on drums. From tribal percussions on "Rodney Street" to grandiose Mellotron choirs on "It Gets Better", Madison Classic hopes that there will be something for everyone on their debut album… and of course, something a little different!

The cover features a Tibetan "Thangka" painting that was found on the side of a rural Southern Ontario road.
